Travel through the Sacred Valley to one of the hottest natural springs in the region. A beautiful and challenging ride through the Andes that cuts through mountainsides and steep valleys. The route summits through a high point of 4.580 m.a.s.l. at Abra Amparaes and then reaches the small town of Lares. The medicinal (sulphur) hot springs of Lares are divided between various pools of different temperatures. After a rustic night in Lares, we continue through the Andes through to the tropical part of the region towards coffee plantations, bananas, mangoes, and Quillabamba. From Quillabamba, we start to transition back to the Andes and reach a high point of 4.500 m.a.s.l. at Abra Malaga and continue on back to Cusco via Ollantaytambo

Day1: Cusco – Pisac – Calca – Lares

Description: We depart Cusco towards Pisac and through the Vilcabamba valley. We stop in Pisac for a quick snack (traditional empanadas) and follow the Vilcanota river towards Calca. We take the road to Lares from there and summit at Abra Amparaes (4580masl) and descend soon after to Lares (2800masl). We spend the night right at the hot springs

Day 2: Lares – Quebrada Onda – Quello Uno – Quillabamba

Description: After a rustic night in Lares, we continue through the Andes through to the tropical part of the region towards coffee plantations, bananas, mangoes, and Quillabamba. The Yanatile valley is lush with all sorts of vegetation, waterfalls, and water crossings

Day 3: Quillabamba – Santa Maria – Abra Malaga – Ollantaytambo – Chichero – Cusco

Description: We leave the warmth and humidity of Quillabamba and start ascending towards 4500masl at Abra Malaga for a magnificent return to the Andes. Depending on how early you want to start the day, we return to Ollantaytambo through the same valley of Rio Urubamba and then can decide to visit a couple sites in the Sacred Valley on the way back to Cusco
